Urban League hosts local job fair: Opportunities still available [Video]

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – Twelve leading local businesses showed up to Thursday morning’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) career fair held in Wichita. 

It is the second year of the Urban League of Kansas hosting the fair, the goal of which is to connect a marginalized community who lack resources and opportunities for employment with employers providing these opportunities.  

Sponsors like Spirit Aerosystems, Dillons, Emprise Bank, Capital Federal and Vermillion, Inc were there supporting the mission.  

Dillons HR Leader Kyla Enslinger said, “It’s really being able to provide resources and education around the topics that are most important and it’s really how do people thrive in our communities.” 

Enslinger added it is also important connecting with businesses who share the same core values.  

The Urban League’s John Castallaw said he sees an increase in people of color coming into the Urban League looking for employment opportunities.
