COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A suspect in the double homicide from early Easter morning appeared in Recorder’s Court the morning of Friday, April 26.

Amarion Boone, 19, a validated gang member according to Muscogee County Deputy Sheriff’s Office, appeared for his preliminary hearing in front of Judge Alonza Whitaker. Hunter Ames, Boone’s attorney, pleaded not guilty to all charges on Boone’s behalf.

In court, Sergeant Robert Nicholas of Columbus Police Department’s violent crime unit provided testimony. Nicholas explained that through inmate messages and witnesses at the block party, Boone was placed at 10th Street and Samson Avenue.

Boone also gave investigators a voluntary statement where he places himself at the scene. This was confirmed by an ankle monitor given to Boone for probation and his cellphone records.
