A clean-up notice has been issued to a Sydney chemical business after a suspected pollution incident at a creek in the city’s west.
The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) issued the notice to a licensed chemical manufacturing and distribution business in Seven Hills, with an order to take measures to contain and remove the alleged pollution by tomorrow.
Blacktown Council and the EPA launched an investigation after reports from the community about the water turning blue at two locations in the creek.
The EPA claimed officers found blue-coloured liquid in containers with some labelled waste dye at the company’s premises.
