STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — With a smile as bright as the cheerful coral sweatsuit he was sporting, comedian Tracy Morgan greeted cancer patients with warm hugs and faith-based encouragement Tuesday in the Florina Cancer Center at Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH), Ocean Breeze.

“God is great; God is good; God is everywhere,’’ Morgan, a two-time Emmy-nominated performer, told Thomas Sax moments after bursting into his treatment room in the brand-new infusion center. There, Sax, 59, was receiving his ninth chemotherapy treatment for pancreatic cancer, with his wife, Sue Neitzel Sax, and daughter, Ashley Goldberg, nearby for support.
