ATHENS, Texas (KETK) – A group of volunteers braved the late June heat to rebuild a fishing pier at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center.
Study finds how East Texas anglers can more accurately target largemouth bass
According to a release, volunteers from the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) Local 21 were out working, despite a 105 degree heat index, to repair a broken down fishing pier at the fishery center.
“Adults and kids alike use the piers for fishing,” Tom Lang, Inland Fisheries Division outreach director, said. “From newborns to elderly in wheelchairs. People from all across the country come here. We get school groups and senior citizens’ homes.”
