Trumps actions show why Christian groups cannot justify supporting him [Video]

Future historians will see through “Christian” excuses for continuing to support Donald Trump. “There is a difference between defending the faith and living the faith” is not a justification for having no bottom (“Explaining Trump’s appeal to the Christian faithful,” letter to the editor, June 7). The Rev. Franklin Graham said those words in support of Trump in early 2018. Since then, we have witnessed:

• A failed effort to overturn the 2020 election based on dishonest claims of election fraud.

• A recording of Trump asking Georgia’s secretary of state to commit election fraud.

• A failed effort to illegally hold onto classified documents.

• A finding of liability for sexual assault.

• Proof of sleazy schemes and payoffs to hide Trump’s infidelities with a Playboy model and a porn star.

• A contemptible strategy of Trump defending himself by undermining America’s faith in elections and the rule of law.

Leaders set examples. Trump exemplifies narcissism and moral depravity. Graham’s past defense of Trump exemplified moral flexibility.
