Community engagement can strengthen a community, foster a sense of purpose, and promote a culture of reciprocity. By participating in a community engagement project, students can learn to identify healthcare disparities and work collaboratively towards positive outcomes and solutions. It is essential, as a nursing faculty, to provide students with opportunities and activities within the classroom showing the importance of service within the community leading to positive patient outcomes.
