The end of an era: Monroe Fire Chief Terry Williams retires [Video]

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – After serving the City of Monroe as fire chief for 36 years Terry Williams is retiring.

The city announced his retirement in a press release with Mayor Friday Ellis saying in part, “The retirement of Chief Terry Williams marks the end of an era for the Monroe Fire Department.” Mayor Ellis continued by saying, “His leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to the safety of our community will leave a lasting mark. We are profoundly grateful for his service and wish him the very best in his well-deserved retirement.”

Williams joined the Monroe Fire Department in May of 1988 and he served in the United States Army Reserves from 1987 to 2007.
