Teenagers in Jefferson City avoid Unsafe Driving | Mid-Missouri News [Video]

Excited teens and proud parents gathered in Jefferson City to attend the Teen Pro-Active Driving School, hosted by Doug Herbert, called “BRAKES.” The program is completely free for any teenager aged 15 to 17, and it teaches them valuable “in the moment” thinking skills on the road, such as skid training, brake reaction and more.

The risk of motor vehicle crashes is higher among teens ages 16-19 than any other age group, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The rate of fatal crashes per mile driven among teen drivers in this age group is almost three times as high as drivers ages 20 and older, according to the CDC.
