School board appoints new interim superintendent in Stafford Co. [Video]

STAFFORD, Va. — The Stafford County School Board has announced a new interim superintendent. 

During a Special Call Meeting on Tuesday, the school board unanimously voted to appoint Stafford, Virginia native Chris R. Fulmer as the acting superintendent. 

“We have full faith and confidence that Mr. Fulmer will further the goals of Stafford Schools with dignity as the acting superintendent,” said School Board Chair Maureen Siegmund. 

This comes one day after Montgomery County Public Schools appointed Dr. Thomas Taylor as the new county superintendent, after a nationwide search to replace former Superintendent Dr. Monifa McKnight. McKnight resigned in February of this year. 

Dr. Taylor spent the last six years serving as Stafford County Superintendent.
