Proposed waterfront development on Cooper River sparks conversation [Video]

HANAHAN, S.C. (WCSC) – Hanahan could soon be bringing waterfront dining to the area with the hopes of keeping locals near and attracting tourists.

A newly proposed waterfront development in Hanahan on the Cooper River has sparked conversation among residents and city planners.

Located on Bowen Waterfront Village property, the development would include restaurants, a pavilion, businesses, apartments, homes and some sort of inn.

Developers for the project and Wrenn Group Founder, Ray Wrenn, said the goal with this project is for the first time ever for Hanahan to have a true waterfront commercial village that brings people together from near and far.

“The thing is, Hanahan will have its own sense of place, and that’s what we’re really trying to get done,” Wrenn said.

As of right now, the two proposed restaurants on the property would be Beer Works and Charleston Crab House.
