People with disabilities celebrate July Fourth with parade [Video]

Just one day from the Fourth of July, one nonprofit is finding a way to celebrate. The Tribble Center’s clients with disabilities started the holiday with a bang Wednesday. The music, costumes and parade were fun for all and a sight to see. “You’ll see more excitement here than a lot of other parades. Because they’re literally ready to go,” said Meloney Stokes, the executive director.As paraders strutted their red, white, and a few dance moves, they circled part of Seneca Wednesday morning. “I feel really good because coming through and seeing a lot of people that I knew,” said Angela Strickland, a person with disabilities. “And I am so glad I got to come here.”This is the Tribble Center’s 13th year holding the parade. They support people with intellectual disabilities living in the community. There is room for everyone here. Law enforcement blared sirens and pushed people in wheelchairs. …
