No. 15 Creighton volleyball’s Kiana Schmitt has evolved into one of Big East’s best [Video]

Kiana Schmitt is the type of player who just kept getting better every year she was in a Creighton volleyball uniform.

That’s a fact coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth really appreciates about the 6-foot-2 Schmitt, who has become one of the best middle blockers in the Big East Conference.

“Kiana’s such a great story because she didn’t play sufficient minutes until her junior season,” Booth said. “I think it’s a testament to who she is as a human. She’s a kid who’s going to work harder than anybody else and still have a positive attitude. It’s the type of kid you want your daughters to look up to.”

Time for Schmitt, who has been a Bluejay since 2019, is winding down as No. 15 Creighton enters the final weekend of the regular season. Schmitt and right-side hitter Ellie Bichelmeyer will be honored Sunday on Senior Day when the Jays face Butler. …
