Im still pushing through: Ashland holds prayer vigil for student-athlete severely injured in crash [Video]

UPDATE (5:23 p.m. on Monday, April 15): A community in Kentucky is holding a prayer vigil for a student-athlete severely injured and still unable to move his legs after a crash in Huntington over the weekend.

Atayveon Thomas was in that car crash and has already had one surgery. The two others in the vehicle are still recovering.

A huge crowd came out to support their fellow Tomcat Monday afternoon, and Ashland Football Coach Chad Tackett said the moment was uplifting.

“If anyone can get through it, it’s him,” Coach Tackett said.

ASHLAND, KY (WOWK) – A community in Kentucky is rallying around two students who were badly injured in a car crash.

While the two students from Ashland Paul Blazer High School have not been officially identified, the Boyd County Sheriff’s Office says they are both student-athletes.
