IHOPKC abuse survivor reacts to organizations plans to close ministry school, make changes [Video]

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – The troubled International House of Prayer is making some changes. The Grandview-based ministry tells KCTV5 they will “re-organize” but not shut down.

This comes after IHOP parted with its founder Mike Bickle. He’s facing multiple accusations of sexual misconduct. An investigation by a local law firm concluded that inappropriate behavior ‘likely’ occurred.

A survivor of IHOPKC says she came there seeking family and community and left feeling betrayed after getting sexually assaulted. She says she’s still seeking accountability from the organization.

“I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this,” said IHOPKC survivor Gracia.

Gracia asked KCTV5 not to reveal her full name because of what happened while she was on staff there. She says she was sexually assaulted by one of her colleagues and felt pressured not to go to police.
