Four-year-old dies after medical emergency at Lamar Early Education Center [Video]

ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — Ector County Independent School District has stated that yesterday, April 8, a four-year-old boy at Lamar Early Education Center, suffered a medical emergency at school. 

The boy was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

“We are devastated,” said ECISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Muri. “The loss of a child creates unimaginable pain. Our trauma team was at Lamar yesterday to support the staff, students and families who need a counselor to talk with. That trauma team will remain at the school for as long as they are needed. The entire ECISD team extends our deepest condolences to the student’s family.”

NewsWest 9 reached out to Michael Adkins, Chief Communications Officer for ECISD, who stated that there are no further details to release at this time, including the name of the child.
