Drug ring busted in Charles County, Maryland [Video]

CHARLES COUNTY, Md. — Several people have been arrested and thousands of dollars worth of illegal drugs were seized after a major drug ring operating in Charles County was busted last week.

The bust was the result of years of investigation, and not only resulted in several arrests, but the recovery of illegal drugs, weapons, and other evidence. 

On June 7, detectives searched four homes in connection to the ring. 

As a result, here’s what was recovered:

The four arrested include;

William Russell Stewart, 27, charged with possession with the intent to distribute drugs, and illegal possession of ammunition (prohibited from possessing a gun due to a previous conviction). Stewart was released by a judge on electronic monitoring.  

Donovan Franklin, 29, of Waldorf, charged with weapons violations relating to guns. Henry was released by a district court commissioner on June 7 on personal recognizance.
