Donnie Moon finds support at The Cornerstone Rescue Mission [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Sixty-three-year-old Donnie Moon has worked with concrete until his life was turned upside down.

“And I ended up getting forced out of my place of residence and no paycheck no nothing,” Moon said.

The Cornerstone Rescue Mission has been a helping hand in his journey. The mission provides emergency housing, veterans programs, prison re-entry programs, and public meals to the community. The organization began in 1980 as a part of Dave and Cheryl Adam’s Missionary work and was formalized under the same name in 1982. The main facility houses 160 men nightly and feeds even more.

“We’re just a facility that’s here to help people that are needing food and shelter in an emergency situation and we’re just always.. we’re open 24/7 ” Operations Manager at The Cornerstone Rescue Mission, Matthew Hower said.

Moon’s biggest challenge since arriving has been his health.
