Community vigil held for 2-year-old hospitalized after drowning in Arab [Video]

Arab Fire Department received the call around 7 p.m. on Monday near Almond Drive off Old Guntersville Road.

ARAB, Ala. — A 2-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital Monday night after officials responded to a possible drowning near Almond Drive off Old Guntersville Road. According to the Arab Fire Department, they received the call around 7 p.m. and arrived at the scene along with Arab Police, Marshall Health Systems Ambulance, and Four-C Volunteer Fire Department.

Shortly after their arrival, the child was transported by ambulance to Marshall Medical Center North and was airlifted to Children’s of Birmingham for treatment. 

In Arab, Liberty Church hosted a vigil for 2-year-old Violet Satterfield on Tuesday.  A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Violet’s medical expenses.
