Chilling audio of the moment a Moroccan asylum seeker allegedly inspired by the Hamas slaughter in Israel ‘tried to stab his housemate to death’ was played to jurors today.

CCTV footage seen in court was also claimed to show alleged Islamic extremist Ahmed Alid, 45, walking the streets armed with a knife before murdered a pensioner he came across in the street at random.

Jurors were told the asylum seeker began his knife rampage by trying to stab his housemate, who had converted from being a Muslim to Christianity, to death as he slept.

Despite being repeatedly stabbed, Javed Nouri, a fellow asylum seeker who had reported Alid to the police two days earlier, fought for his life and another housemate managed to disarm the attacker, Teesside Crown Court was told.
