Camas HS radio club makes contact with International Space Station [Video]

CAMAS, Wash. (KPTV) – Students from the Amateur Radio Club at Camas High School successful made contact with the International Space Station.

For 10 minutes on Saturday, the ISS was visible over the local horizon, giving the students a chance to speak with astronauts and Camas High School alum Mike Barratt.

It took them three tries to finally get through but the students made it happen. The students then shot off some of their rapid fire questions:

“What is your most stressful experience in space?”

“I think my most stressful experience is that doing spacewalks. I did that on my first mission and I’m about to do that in about a week again so really looking forward to putting on that suit and going outside. Over.”

“What’s the most useful you’ve taken away from high school?”
