Beloved Chalmette Principal on the mend after brutal attack [Video]

The wife of a beloved Chalmette High School principal is sharing new details after her husband was brutally attacked earlier this week. Kitty Warner told WDSU her husband, Wayne Warner, is resting well after surgery this week, but the road to recovery is only just beginning.Deputies said Warner was attacked on Sunday night. They identified the suspect as 33-year-old Christopher Kidd, and say Kidd, who is a double amputee in a wheelchair, kicked over mailboxes and trash cans on Palmetto Street in Chalmette.That’s when deputies say Warner approached him, and Kidd attacked.The interaction left Warner hospitalized and he had surgery on Tuesday.Doctors used pins, plates and screws to repair his hip and elbow. “He just asked the man, ‘What are you doing?” Warner explained. “He says, ‘I didn’t use a principal tone.
