FOCUS: Interfaith Collaborations: Real Life Examples.
Often, interfaith initiatives are designed around people from different faith systems coming together to work on a shared concern or project. They demonstrate respect for the different norms of each faith system, but their interaction is pretty limited and very focused.
How does this change, when two or more groups are actually sharing space, planning programs and educating each other about their differences (and their similarities)? And how does it affect their commitment to inclusion?
Let’s talk with leaders from spiritual communities challenged to build stronger relationships with leaders from different spiritual communities because they are sharing space or going deeper together. Rev. Amani is the Spiritual Leader at Albuquerqe CSL. Rev. David is the Spiritual Leader at Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta.
Join Tracy Brown, RScP in this week’s episode of “Inclusive Church” and mark your calendar to watch every Tuesday at noon Mountain Time.
This show focuses on ideas and resources for leaders of multicultural ministries. No hypothetical theory here … just lots of actual challenges and choices we all need to be ready for if we want to be champions of inclusive ministries.
“Church” is referring to the people, not a building. And the word “leaders” is not limited to ministers. Anyone who coordinates a volunteer team, serves as staff, contributes as board members, donates financially or participates in measurable ways is demonstrating leadership.
