San Diego History Center to launch digital exhibit showcasing African American history [Video]

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — The San Diego History Center’s current exhibit showcasing African American History, called Celebrate San Diego: Black History & Heritage, is missing some pieces.

“The Missing Pieces Project is to really work with the community and ask what else are we missing? What are the stories we don’t know?” said Tina Zarpour, San Diego History Center Vice President of Community Engagement.

That’s why the Black Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego History Center are coming together to hear experts connect missing pieces of San Diego’s African American History with help from the community, the information collected will eventually become a part of the new digital exhibit launching next February.
