Victim’s aunt, mother and 10 youths charged in New London assault [Video]

NEW LONDON, Conn. — Twelve people are facing charges after an assault in New London on April 29, including the victim’s aunt and mother, police said Monday.

According to police, on April 30, officers were made aware of a social media video that showed a 13-year-old victim being assaulted, reportedly by their boyfriend and a family member. 

Through an investigation, police determined that the incident happened on April 29 at 6:10 p.m. in the O’Reilly Auto Parts store parking lot on Colman Street. Police said they learned from the video that the victim’s aunt, identified as Keosha Muriel, 29, was involved in the assault, along with a group of 10 youths who were either “assaulting or observing” the incident take place “over an extended period of time.”
