TD Beach to Beacon 10K to benefit Preble Street Teen Services [Video]

CAPE ELIZABETH, Maine — The annual TD Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race is gearing up for another exciting event, and this year, all the bibs for runners have already been claimed.

“Folks don’t recognize that there are youth that are experiencing homelessness in our communities,” Ali Lovejoy, vice president of admission advancement at Preble Street, said.

With over 300 youth served statewide annually, Preble Street Teen Services operates as an overnight shelter, providing crucial support to vulnerable young individuals.

“We have 28 beds for youth who are experiencing homelessness. That’s up from 24. During COVID-19 pandemic, we expanded to 28 beds,” Lovejoy explained.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Preble Street had compelling reasons to apply as this year’s Beach to Beacon beneficiary.
