Retired Spartanburg County fire chief’s funeral [Video]

Friends, family, firefighters, and members of the community came to attend the funeral of a retired Spartanburg County fire chief on Saturday.(Video above: coverage from the service)The Spartanburg County Fire Chiefs Association confirmed Wednesday, that retired fire chief and current firefighter William Dale Worthy has died.Worthy’s service was held at Pacolet Mills Baptist Church at 385 Stone Street, in the city of Pacolet, officials say.During the service, there were songs, eulogies, and a fireman’s prayer bell ceremony to commemorate Worthy.The church was full of friends and family during the ceremony. The entire Pacolet Fire Department was in attendance, along with nearly 30 fire chiefs from surrounding fire departments. Officials say Worthy served the Pacolet Fire Department for 50 years.
