President Joe Biden’s Morehouse College commencement address draws opposition [Video]

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A petition has been started that seeks to persuade Morehouse College to rescind its invitation to President Joe Biden to speak at the HBCU’s 140th graduation exercise on May 19, 2024.

The Change.org petition has been signed by 725 people so far, with its next goal set at 1,000.

Besides rescinding Biden’s invitation, the petition also calls for, among other things, a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war; demands all Atlanta University Center presidents, board of trustee members and administrators “dissolve all relationships with Atlanta Police Department and all organizations funding or supporting Cop City or Israel;” and abolish all Atlanta University Center “protest policies and publicly condemn the brutalization of university students and activists.”
