Lowcountry nonprofit hosting second annual Springfest [Video]

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) – One Lowcountry nonprofit is hosting its second annual Springfest in Summerville on Saturday.

Katie’s Krops Springfest will host garden tours and unveil an expansion to their monarch butterfly house for guests.

Organizers will show the newest butterfly house expansion tomorrow. The group partners with Clemson University’s architecture program which expanded the area just days ago.

The free event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at their flagship garden on 505 Gahagan Road. Youth volunteers in the outdoor classroom will be tour guides to explain the grown produce. Visitors have access to organization t-shirts, tie-dye activities and community vendors.

Founder and chief executive gardener Katie Stagliano says the event looks to get more people involved with their program.
