Girls Who Grieve group expands healing horizons with free community walks in Staten Island parks [Video]

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Six months after its inception, the Girls Who Grieve (GWG) group, founded by Alana Herman, Brittany Conigatti-Lucchesi, and Jessica Pisano, continues to make strides in providing a supportive community for women navigating significant personal loss.

The program’s holistic approach, now preparing for its third session, blending movement, meditation, journaling, and therapist-led discussions, has garnered profound feedback and results for them.

“For me, Brittany, and Jess, witnessing their transformation and the connections they make is truly remarkable, said the group’s founder, Alana Herman. “We didn’t know what to expect initially, but what’s unfolding exceeds our expectations.”

“At the end of each session, we like to do a reflection and we have just had the best feedback we could imagine, said Herman. The combination of activities and community elements has even led some participants to describe their experience as “life-changing.”
