Hope’s Bridge and Bryant preserving partner for a common goal and a common loved one
FORT SMITH, Arkansas — Hope’s Bridge, a transitional home in Fort Smith for people recovering from substance abuse, is all about rebuilding life after active addiction. For many, that journey begins with a stable job.
“It fosters a sense of self-worth structure, which is so important in recovery,” says Hope’s Bridge Executive Director Austin Coats, who is in recovery himself. He says his work in this field throughout his eight years of sobriety helps him help his residents.
The organization just launched the Recovery Workforce project, a partnership with local businesses to hire the home’s residents.
“I can promise you, somebody in recovery, truly in recovery, is the best employee that you’ll ever have. They’ll be the most dedicated and motivated employee that you’ll ever have,” Coats said.
