CHANTILLY, Va. (DC News Now) — Over the weekend, Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) officers and Virginia State Police troopers broke up a car meetup, which started elsewhere but ended in a Wegmans parking lot in Chantilly.
The meetup, which ended without any arrests, comes just a few weeks after a “street takeover” left an officer injured.

Early Easter morning, FCPD responded to a parking lot in Springfield when an officer was surrounded in her car by dozens of people at a car meetup.
“I believe that they fully intended to drag her out of that car,” FCPD Police Chief, Kevin Davis, said at a news conference in April.
A few people were arrested and they faced a range of charges stemming from speeding to eluding, to felony hit-and-run.
