RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Eleanor Raker, has received the Gatorade Nevada Girl’s Cross Country Player of the Year award. This marks her second time she’s received recognition from Gatorade for her dedication to athletics and community service.

Through her volunteer work with Special Olympics Nevada, Raker’s passion for giving back to the community is limitless.

Gatorade has a commitment to breaking barriers and allowing athletes like Raker to have a positive impact in their communities. The recognition of Raker’s efforts resulted in a $1,000 donation from Gatorade to Special Olympics Nevada, and through a video submission sharing her efforts and that of Special Olympics Nevada, an additional $10,000 was awarded to her to gift to the organization.

On Morning Break, Eleanor Raker and Brianne McGowan-Durfee, Northern Nevada Development Director for Special Olympics Nevada, join us to share more about this great effort in our community.
