Dorchester Co. completes plan to address opioid epidemic in the community [Video]

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) – The Dorchester County Alcohol and Drug Commission has completed the county’s Opioid Strategic Plan, aiming to combat substance misuse.

The completion of the Opioid Strategic Plan comes just in time for the commission’s 50th anniversary.

The Dorchester County Alcohol and Drug Commission was established in April 1974.

The completion of the Opioid Strategic Plan marks a significant milestone in their ongoing efforts.

This plan was developed under the leadership of the commission and Dorchester County government.

It outlines a comprehensive approach to combat the opioid crisis, including increasing access to services and providing support for those in recovery and their families.

Dorchester County has approximately $1.6 million that they’re eligible to use towards approved programs for treatment and prevention.
