CVS Pharmacy has new offerings to help students in college [Video]

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A new recruitment effort is underway to help the next generation of pharmacists as CVS Health says they’re expanding its tuition assistance and scholarship programs.

It’s the latest move to increase the number of pharmacists in the industry and make it easier for students to afford college.

According to the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, just over 13,000 pharmacy students graduated in 2022. That number dropped from almost one thousand the year before, making it the largest drop since 1983.

Two new programs are available here. The first is the tuition assistance program for CVS interns. Eligible interns will receive a $20,000 award per year.

The other is a $20,000 scholarship for pharmacy students at any school nationwide. There will be 21 students chosen who currently face financial barriers.
