Construction starting soon on Highway 31 mixed-use development in Alabaster [Video]

ALABASTER, Ala. (WBRC) – Some exciting news for folks in Alabaster. Crews are getting ready to start on that new development on Highway 31 off Interstate 65.

We’re told you’ll see 75 new businesses in the area including new retail, hotel and restaurant space, right at the front door of Alabaster.

The first phase, Shops at District 31, will include new retail and restaurant space.

Construction is expected to start in June with the main project, District 31, starting later in 2024.

Keith Owens, a manager at Alumni Properties of Alabama, said the company purchased the property back in 2022 and 2023. He says they are excited to get to work.
