Child abuse awareness and prevention event held in Campbell County [Video]

RUSTBURG, Va. (WFXR)– In honor of Child Abuse Awareness Month, the Campbell County Department of Social Services hosted a child abuse prevention and awareness event, ‘Growing a Better Tomorrow…One Child at a Time’ in Rustburg on Friday, April 26.

During the event, Campbell County advocates wanted to make sure attendees knew the possible signs of abuse to the community and steps they could take to help. Advocates say it’s important to bring awareness to these signs, as they may be difficult to spot in a child’s behavior.

Advocates state physical, psychological, and emotional abuse can all go unnoticed, but some signs may include:
