Barktastic time at the 10th anniversary of Hobo’s Healing Heart in Spearfish | News [Video]

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Crows Peak Brewery in Spearfish was buzzing with excitement Sunday as the first leg of the 0.5K Trifecta Challenge marked the 10th anniversary of Hobo’s Healing Heart, a non-profit dedicated to assisting families in the Black Hills facing financial hardships in veterinary care for their pets.

Founder and President of Hobo’s Healing Heart, Kelly Harnett, says, “As far as I know, we are the only organization in South Dakota that provides this type of service. It not only helps the pet owners, but also at times when people can’t afford an emergency vet care, they’ll either going to have to make the decision to prematurely euthanize their pet or surrender it to one of the humane societies, and they’re already overburdened as well. So, this helps keep pets’ home.”
